I don't know which is more crazy, the fact that I spent more than half a day colour correcting and iconing only two shows or the fact that I frakkin' loved it. Hmmm, I think both items point to some mental health issues which should be addressed.

It has been an emotional exhausting few days. I've feel as if I've been jerked around by life, beaten, shanked and then left by the side of the road bleeding. I can't bring myself to answer the phone anymore. It could only be bad news. And all my favorite football teams lost. What do I do to combat this? Make icons of course.

On a completely unrelated note... has LJ stopped comment notification? Haven't gotten an email in what feels like ages. This makes responding to comments really hard.

I was all set to do a True Blood season one picspam to sing the praises of a show that defines guilty pleasure. It's so ridiculous that almost borders on genius. My obsession with all things undead is well documented (between this show and Being Human, I'm almost on vamp overload), so it isn't that big of shock that I fell for this show's kooky charm. It isn't pretending to be deep. It isn't pretending to thought provoking. It is about vampires and their struggle to find a place in the world now that they can live out in the open. Have to say that while the gay/vampire metaphor has been done to death (heee!), I am still quite happy to see it featured on such a mainstream show.

At any rate .. first season was brilliant in its own low brow way. Loved all the characters. I could even forgive the accents considering that three of the principles are not even from the U.S. I even found Sookie and Bill's star-crossed, doomed romance thing interesting. That is until ... they started up Jessica/Hoyt. Last night, I was ran through all the Jessica scenes (yay, favorite character) and fell in love with this dorktastic romance. If Sookie and Bill are Angel/Buffy, then Jessica/Hoyt are Willow/Oz and in the face of that kind of comparison Sookie/Bill are suddenly very boring. This couple define adorable. I had a big grin on my face through all their scenes.

Allergies kept me indoors all day. mania_revisited is away so no drinking for me this weekend. I am the Jack McFarland to her Karen Walker. Just putting it out there. Still taking requests if anyone wants something. I hope the weather holds tomorrow long enough so that I can venture outside for a few hours. Sitting in front of my computer all the live-long day is effecting my eyes, I can feel it.

I've pissed the day away and I feel a bit guilty. The weather in New York at the moment isn't helping. We are on our fifth straight day of rain. It will not clear up until the weekend, which, truly is madness. I feel as though I should start to gather two of every animal, just in case. Plus, no new Otalia today. God is definitely taking the piss. Hiding indoors, I've split my time between reading fan fiction (yep, I've got to relieve that Otalia sexual tension some way) and watching loads of British telly, which has, I hate to admit, effected the way I verbalize my thoughts. Why does it only take four straight days of watching nothing but British programming for me to slip back into the days when I was living in London, fetching crisps at Tesco and having pint, sharing a laugh with my mates on Homer Street ... and live under the illusion that someone who grew up in American should use words like "crisps". Urgh. Believe me, my faux Britishness annoys even me! Have I mentioned its been raining for five fucking days? It is like I'm in London.

But moving on, one quick announcement before I move on into some random fangirling. Word is hitting the web that The CW is NOT picking up the Gossip Girl spin-off centering on the wild antics of teenage Lily in the 80's, which is surprising since I heard good buzz about it. It was a "sure-lock" for pick-up only a few short weeks ago. In other words, enjoy next week's episode of Gossip Girl because that's all she wrote for teen Lily.

Next, let's talk a bit series one of Skins. Finally caught the entire first series and I adored it. I am sort of glad that I caught series three prior to this one. I know I would have resented the new cast just a little for taking the place of my favorite characters. I adore everyone on this show, well, except for Tony and Michelle. Those two could jump off a bridge as far as I'm concerned.
